Commission-free ordering for a busy café
How a Sydney café took back its takeaway margin — direct online ordering, segmented Wi-Fi and local SEO delivered in a single three-week build.
The background
Harbourline Café is a 40-seat harbourside café with strong weekend trade. When they came to us, a third of takeaway revenue was going through delivery platforms at up to 30% commission, the POS shared an unsecured Wi-Fi network with customers, and the café ranked below three competitors on 'café near me' searches despite better reviews.
What it had to do
- Take orders directly, commission-free
- Stop POS dropouts during peak trade
- Rank in the Google map pack for nearby searches
- Keep total cost under a realistic small-business budget
How we built it
We built a one-page site with menu, hours and direct online ordering, deployed on edge hosting for sub-second loads. On-site, a UniFi network puts the POS and cameras on their own segment with a separate guest portal. The Google Business Profile was rebuilt with correct categories, photos and a QR-driven review flow at the register.
